Bob like most movie goers thought the black Interceptor was destroyed in a blaze of glory on the silver screen in the sequel Mad Max 2 The Road Warrior, crushing all thoughts of one day Bob
salvaging the interceptor and rebuilding it to its former glory, but remember that is the movies and not all is to be believed.

Several years had passed since the premier of Mad Max 2 and a chance meeting with a guy involved in the filming of Mad Max 2 informed Bob that a duplicate interceptor was used in the rollover scene and just maybe the original interceptor may still exist!
Suddenly Bobs heart rate thumps to the beat of AC DCs Hells Bells and the memories of sitting in the front row of the premier of Mad Max 1 as a young wide eyed fan flooded back, the dream of owning the movie car was still alive!!.
Bob immediately starts an extensive search contacting and exhausting all leads to the whereabouts of the Interceptor, then all hell brakes loose! Darren a staff member of Bobs car yard Sky Motors informs Bob a relative of his, Ray Evans, has the Interceptor at his scrap yard only 2 hours drive from Adelaide. ITS ON!!  not so disimilar from the opening Night Rider chase scene from Mad Max Bob carves up the freeway in his black trans am. As Bob approches the scrap yard, in the corner of his eye just behind the chain link fence '' ITS THE INTERCEPTOR "  rough and covered in weeds but ...SALVAGEABLE!.
